Terms of service

Effective: 2026-10-29

These terms are the agreement between you and Klura AB, the company that makes Spegla. They cover the Spegla app, spegla.app and help.spegla.app.

Who we are

Spegla is made and run by Klura AB, Stockholm, Sweden ("we", "us"). "You" means the person using Spegla. Contact: privacy@klura.app.

Agreeing to these terms

You agree to these terms when you create a Spegla account or use the app. If you don't agree, don't use Spegla. If you use Spegla for an organisation, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it.

What Spegla is

Spegla is an app for macOS and Windows that connects your own devices to each other. Today a Mac can show its screen on another Mac or a Windows PC, or use that computer as a second screen, on your local network or across networks when they allow a direct connection.

A session starts on the Mac. You pick one of the devices signed in to your account, and that device accepts or declines; or the Mac shows a short code that you enter on the other computer. The picture travels directly between the two devices, encrypted. Spegla's servers help your devices find each other, show which of them are online and pass session requests between them. They don't receive what's on your screen.

Spegla is pre-release software: it is in active development and hasn't launched. Features may change, stop working or be removed. Planned features, such as remote control, moving files, apps for phones and tablets, a relay for networks that don't allow a direct connection, and paid plans, aren't part of the service until they're released.

Your licence to use the app

The app belongs to Klura AB and is licensed to you, not sold. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use it, under these terms, on devices you own or are allowed to use. You may not copy, modify, sell or redistribute the app, or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows it despite this restriction. The Spegla name and logo are ours.

Who can use Spegla

You must be at least 13 years old to use Spegla. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you and approve any purchase, and is responsible for your account.

Your account and devices

You need an account to use the app. You sign in with a code we send to your email address, so anyone who can read that inbox can sign in as you: keep it secure. Each computer you sign in on joins your account as a device, and your devices can then offer each other sessions.

You are responsible for what is done with your account. If you lose a device that is signed in, or think someone else has signed in to your account, email privacy@klura.app and we'll remove the device.

What you share

When you share a screen, everything on it shows on the other device, including notifications and open windows. Share only with devices you trust, and only content you have the right to show. You are responsible for what you share and for how you use what is shared with you.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Spegla to:

  • Access or view a device you don't own or aren't allowed to use.
  • Watch or record other people without their knowledge, or where the law doesn't allow it.
  • Share content that is unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Get around Spegla's security or access controls.
  • Overload, disrupt or misuse Spegla's servers, or use them for anything other than running Spegla.
  • Break any law that applies to you.

Plans and payments

Nothing is sold yet, and Spegla is free while it is pre-release. Before we offer a paid plan or any other purchase, we will show you its price and terms, and you will agree to them when you buy.

Availability

We run Spegla on a best-effort basis, with no promised uptime. When our servers can't be reached, your devices may not be able to find each other or start a session. We may change, pause or end the pre-release service, and we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.

Privacy

Our privacy policy explains what we collect, why, and for how long. What's on your screen isn't sent to our servers.

Feedback

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve Spegla without owing you anything for them.

Ending your use

You can stop using Spegla at any time and ask us to delete your account, as described on our data-deletion page.

We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other people or our servers. Unless the law or someone's safety prevents it, we will tell you why.

No warranty

Spegla is pre-release software, provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we make no promises about it beyond these terms, including that it will work without interruption or errors, or that it suits a particular purpose. This doesn't affect rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, Klura AB is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Spegla, such as lost profits or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability for loss caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for personal injury, or any other liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, and disputes are settled by the courts of Sweden. If you are a consumer living in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in its courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when a feature or a paid plan is released. We post the new version here with a new effective date. When a change matters to you, we tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, at least 30 days before if it reduces your rights. If you don't accept a change, stop using Spegla and ask us to delete your account. Using Spegla after a change takes effect means you accept it.

Other terms

If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies. These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Spegla. We may transfer these terms to a company that takes over Spegla, and we will tell you if we do.
